The Google Pixel 6a originally retails for Rs 43,999 on Flipkart. During the pre-sale, customers with Axis Bank cards received an instant discount of Rs 4,000. However, in the last couple of days this has been revised and is now at Rs 2,000.
SBI credit card holders can enjoy a 10% discount of up to Rs 750 and Rs 1,500 on full payment and EMI transactions respectively.
Many of Google’s other products will also be available for purchase at discounts. Discount coupons will be provided upon delivery of Google Pixel 6a. Google Nest Hub, Nest Mini, Pixel Buds A-series and Fitbit Inspire 2 are the products you can choose from.
Still worth buying?
Considering the device’s overall specs, there were concerns about the overall performance prices of the device. Compared to other competing brands, the only advantage of the smartphone is the flagship Tensor chipset and good Android software support.
The Pixel 6a was also recently reported to have a major security flaw in its fingerprint scanner. allowed unlock the smartphone even with an unregistered fingerprint. Google has yet to comment on this matter.
As Google is returning to India and will officially bring after-sales support for the devices, the company is expected to fix the devices soon. The problem with the fingerprint scanner was only noticed on units in India. If they are software issues, the company will release software updates to fix them. But if it’s at the hardware level, Google should replace them.
Hardcore fans of the Pixel series may want to wait until there is more clarity and fixes for the device. For everyone else, there are better alternatives to smartphones with prices below BRL 40,000 and also below BRL 50,000. High refresh rates and better build quality are guaranteed by these devices.
