Already solidified as one of the biggest players in streaming, on December 8th, the price of Disney Plus will increase for the second time, and with it will introduce a long-awaited ad-supported plan.

How much does Disney Plus cost?
At the WEa monthly subscription to sign up for disney plus (opens in new tab) it currently costs $7.99. However, an annual membership is more cost-effective. At $79.99, it’s almost 20% less than if you paid the monthly fee throughout the year.
Come december 8new customers who want to sign up will be able to choose between the ad-supported plan, which will cost the standard $7.99 per month, or pay $10.99 per month to forgo ads (and only the ad-free plan will offer a discounted annual fee of $109.99 per year).
For subscribers outside the US, the introduction of an ad-free plan and price increase will take place in late 2023.
Those United States can also choose to subscribe to the Disney Plus package, which adds two other streaming services – Hulu and ESPN Plus – for a reasonable price. price of $13.99 per month (opens in new tab) – that’s nearly $12 cheaper than subscribing to all three separately, and a low price for such a wide range of core content. You could initially sign up for Disney Plus in the US, Canada and the Netherlands when it launched in November 2019. It then expanded to Australia, New Zealand, the UK and Europe before coming to Japan and Latin America. It is now available in over 106 countries, with the Philippines and Vietnam being the final destinations for 2022 on its trajectory.
How to get Disney Plus for free
The introductory 7-day free trial came to an end some time ago, with no country currently benefiting from one. But it may well return when the company’s period of rapid growth slows, as well as potentially being available when launching in new countries. How does the price of Disney Plus compare to Netflix?
With a relatively small library but full of commercially profitable franchises and content from major movie studios, Disney Plus looks set to rival Netflix as the world’s most popular streaming service.
However, Netflix has nearly twice as many subscribers and nearly five times as much content.
A basic Netflix plan will cost $9.99 a month, but that only lets you stream one movie at a time and only in SD resolution. A standard subscription costs $15.49 and includes two simultaneous streams and HD resolution, while a four-screen Ultra HD Premium plan costs $19.99.

Disney Plus continued to offer fantastic value, reducing the price of Netflix, Amazon Prime and HBO Max. But one thing it lacks is live access to its own TV channels, like Freeform or Disney Junior. So if you are primarily looking for a cable replacement online, it would be wise to check out the following OTT providers. Each offers a free trial of varying duration for new subscribers.
For $69.99 a month, YouTube TV has a unique plan that offers 85 channels or more depending on your location, across news, sports, entertainment and kids TV. Furthermore, it has the inimitable Unlimited Cloud DVR feature. But even more comprehensive is FuboTV (opens in new tab). The $69.99 Pro plan offers over 110 channels, a third of which are sports-related. And you can pay to add extras like Showtime ($10.99 a month) or International Sports Plus if you want more.
